WHEN IS THE FRINGE?

The Victoria Fringe Theatre Festival runs August 23 - September 2, 2007, at various venues in downtown Victoria BC.

WHAT IS THE FRINGE?

The Victoria Fringe Theatre Festival is a fun, cheap, casual way to see a whole lot of live alternative performance from around the world. The 2007 Victoria Fringe will feature almost 40 comedy, drama, and dance companies from Canada, the US, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Israel. 15,000 people came to Victoria's Fringe in 2006.

Companies and artists who want to perform at the Fringe apply in December, and pay an application fee. They are then selected for the festival by lottery. These artists bring their fully produced shows to the festival, and receive 100% of their box office revenue. The Fringe provides a venue, technicians, box-office volunteers, and umbrella promotion. Then we stand back and let it happen. Your annual Fringe Membership (the Visa Button) is $5, then all tickets are $9 or less. Frequent Fringers can buy a 10-show pass for just $65!
