(Globe & Mail) |
The critically acclaimed documentary HAMLET{SOLO} chronicles actor Raoul Bhaneja's six-year journey as he mounts his exciting one-man version of Shakespeare's Hamlet. It is an in-depth look at a maverick spirit driven to accomplish a challenging goal, and the personal and artistic costs involved. The film includes the perspective and advice of several notable Hamlets, including Christopher Plummer, Colm Feore, Paul Gross, Kenneth Walsh, Brent Carver, Mark Rylance, and John Neville.
Raoul Bhaneja will take a night off performing Hamlet at the Uno Festival to screen the documentary and discuss his creative process with the audience. |

This is a ONE DAY Intensive for actors/writers/creators who have always wanted to write and perform their own solo show. Using writing exercises, improvisations and character exploration, this workshop is designed to help you generate material for your one person show. We will explore the essential elements in building a successful solo show as well as the business of performing/producing your own one person show.
If you don't have anything written yet- be prepared to write and generate material, just bring your ideas, pen and paper!
Instructor: Nicolle Nattrass is an actor (CAEA/ACTRA), playwright (Playwrights Guild of Canada) and multiple Jessie Award nominee. Her one woman show, Brownie Points- Boldly Going Where No Brownie Has Gone Before , has been adapted into an award-winning short film.
