Volunteer
The success of our festivals, shows, and events rely on the skills, innovation, fellowship and enthusiasm of hundreds of volunteers each year!
What Our Volunteers Do
They sell tickets, usher, distribute program guides, act as couriers, take surveys, staff the hotline, host artists in their homes, work on our Board of Directors, run the bar, decorate, work at special events. During the Festivals, there's loads of fun and challenging volunteer positions to choose from.
Because we don't produce shows, most of our volunteer positions are about making large-scale events happen, rather than working backstage on a play.
Volunteers receive orientation and training, free tickets for festival shows for each shift worked, and access to special Volunteer Appreciation shows at the Fringe. It's a great way to use or improve your skills, meet new friends and experience a fun and exciting showbiz environment from the inside.
If you want to volunteer, give us a call now and we'll remind you when our next event approaches. While most of our volunteer positions are seasonal (we mostly need volunteers for the eight weeks of the year when we have events on) we can often use some casual administrative help doing data entry, mailouts, and that sort of thing.
Host An Artist
During the Fringe, we also seek local folks with spare rooms to share with visiting Fringe performers! Fringe artists are a friendly, gentle, and appreciative bunch. They don't need to be fed, entertained, or driven around; they just need a little privacy, a place to sleep, and use of your kitchen and bathroom facilities for approximately 2 weeks in late August when the Fringe is on. Hosts (also known as "billets") receive six Fringe Bucks to see the shows of their choice at the festival.
