The 12th annual Uno Fest will run May 21-31, 2009, at the Metro Studio and Intrepid Theatre Club in downtown Victoria, BC. Uno Fest  is a juried international festival of one-person shows. We invite 10-15 productions each year, for 1-3 performances each, and pay a guaranteed fee, travel, and hotel accommodation for visiting performers.  We are primarily interested in recently produced solo theatrical work of 45-90 minutes in length. The 23rd annual Victoria Fringe Theatre Festival (TM), August 27-Sept 6, 2009, is an multi-venue international theatre festival featuring 50 comedy, drama, dance, musical theatre and spoken word productions from around the world.  The festival lineup is selected by lottery. Those companies drawn in the lottery pay a fee of $500, and receive 6 scheduled performances, a full-equipped venue of 50-150 seats,  a professional technican, front-of-house and box-office support, and a listing and image in the Fringe Program Guide and website. They also receive 100% of their box office receipts - and billeting is available for visiting artists.

Intrepid Theatre invites submissions to the 6th annual Petri Dish New Play Contest, open to playwrights, theatre artists and companies who are residents of Vancouver Island and Gulf Islands, who would like to premiere an original work at the 2009 Victoria Fringe Theatre Festival. 

The prize is $300 cash, plus a free, guaranteed spot in the 09 Fringe. The winner is responsible for producing their own show. The application fee is $25. Read More>>
